At a recent media panel, Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia Pope on the show 'Scandal,' weighed in how the fictional White House in her 1-hour drama would handle the government shutdown.

That got us thinking about how other fictional presidents would deal with Congress.

President Coriolanus Snow in Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

In this dystopian tale, the setting is the United States, approximately, but now the states are "districts" in the country of Panem and they're definitely not united. Also, you won't find the capitol city near Washington, D.C. - the president lives in a place near what we know as present-day Denver.

And if you know anything about the plot of "Hunger Games," then you know things aren't going to go well for a congress operating alongside President Snow, the man who literally pits child against child in a battle to the death. Will the Speaker of the House be the last man standing? The odds may be in the favor of Michele Bachmann fighting for an Obamacare-free Panem.
