The main suspect in four separate 2016 murder investigations in Federal Way has been in jail for almost two years for another crime.
On Tuesday, May 15, Federal Way police announced they believe Justice Henderson is the killer in the four murders that took place in April and May of 2016.
Henderson was arrested by U.S. Marshals in July of 2016 for a separate attempted murder case in Tacoma.
“He was our suspect and we decided at that time not to charge him with any crimes because he was already in custody for an attempted murder in Tacoma. So we had time on our side,” Police Chief Andy Hwang explained.
Police Chief Hwang says Henderson is currently serving a 12-year sentence for that crime. Two other suspects are expected to be charged for related crimes.
Back in 2016, the community was put on high alert during the shootings. Hwang recommended residents took extra precautions and suggested not going outside on foot late at night.
