Congressman Dave Reichert is running for reelection in the 8th District, but he said he wouldn’t rule out a run for governor in the future.
The former King County sheriff told KIRO Radio’s Jason Rantz Show he’s a believer in keeping your options open.
“That’s what I’ve done my entire career, even in the sheriff’s office,” he said.
“Your career leads you places people recognize that you might be good in this position or that position. We’re always open to any options that opportunity might present itself.”
You’ll see Reichert’s name on the November ballot, up against Democratic challenger Jason Ritchie, who won 32 percent of the vote in the August primaries.
But Reichert said the Republican Party has approached him about a future as governor.
“I think it’s an option that I’d consider,” he said.
