Memorial Day weekend is known to be the unofficial start to summer. Which means more campers, boats, and trucks traveling across already crowded roads.
Follow updates here on Monday:
The Washington State Department of Transportation has come out with their annual travel graphs outlining the best/worst times to cross Snoqualmie Pass, Stevens Pass, Canadian border, and I-5 outside of JBLM. Check out WSDOT’s Memorial Day weekend traffic graphs here.
WSDOT is asking drivers to allow extra time for travel. Call 5-1-1 for updated road conditions and to stay alert for new lane shifts or work zone staging areas. Transportation officials say most roadwork has been suspended over the holiday weekend.
Tolling is always a question for drivers during the holiday travel. If plans take you over the 520 floating bridge weekend toll rates in effect for Monday and the I-405 Express Toll lanes will be free and open to all drivers.
Chris Sullivan and Tracy Taylor will be monitoring conditions all weekend. Follow @kirotraffic on twitter for the latest on the roads.
