ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio (AP) - A former Ohio police chief faces sentencing in an alleged break-in at the home of a woman who bore twin girls for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick.

A jury last month convicted Barry Carpenter on charges of receiving stolen property, theft in office and evidence tampering. He was acquitted of other counts, including burglary.

A special prosecutor says Carpenter could receive up to six years in prison at Wednesday's sentencing in eastern Ohio.

Carpenter has resigned as chief in Martins Ferry, where the celebrity couple's surrogate mother lived. Carpenter and police Chief Chad Dojack of neighboring Bridgeport were accused of conspiring to steal items from the woman's home to sell to paparazzi.

Dojack's trial is scheduled for next month.
