Rainier Valley Food Bank employees received a startling surprise Wednesday morning when they found thieves had ransacked their Thanksgiving food supply.
"We're scrambling to replace the food, but there was enough in there to have fed probably about 1,200 people," said Food Bank Director Sam Osbourne.
Almost $2,000 worth of food was stolen, including canned goods and hundreds of pounds of potatoes and onions.
The food was collected just last weekend at a food drive held by local volunteers.
