King County swine flu cases hit peak
KIRO Radio
King County indicators say we might have turned the corner in the swine flu epidemic.
"In an epidemic that hasn't had a lot of good news, we have some today. That is that rates of new H1N1 infections have peaked, at least temporarily, in King County," says County Health Director David Fleming.
Fleming says the number of new cases should remain steady or start on a downturn. "It's most likely that cases will continue to occur in our area for the coming weeks at a stable or declining level."
Health officials say the decline in cases gives health providers a chance to make up for a slow start in inoculations due to delays in the production of vaccine.
