Fast food robbers suspected in rape

Robbers who have posed as police officers and kidnapped fast food restaurant managers have struck for a fourth time in Pierce County, but they've elevated their attacks.

"One subject was assaulted and a second subject was sexually assaulted," said Mark Fulgham with Tacoma Police.

Fulgham said an employee of the Lakewood Wendy's and her boyfriend were targeted early Sunday morning.

The suspects stuffed the woman's boyfriend in a car trunk and demanded keys from the restaurant. When they discovered she didn't have keys, they dragged her to a wooded area in the 1900 block of E. 56th St. and raped her.

Until now, no one had been hurt in the attacks.

Fulgham said they're still looking for suspects. "We have some information gathered from all the different victims. So now we're in the process of putting it all together and trying to identify suspects."
