Kirby Wilbur: Thank you for 16 years!

kirby

I remember hearing Kirby Wilbur's first show on radio and just hoping they'd give him another shot. They did, and he informed Puget Sound conservatives for 16 years. I had the privilege of working for him as his producer and fill-in for a few of those years. Kirby's a true believer, a warrior in the battlefield of ideas, and living proof that, contrary to claims in some parts of the media, talk radio is not "just entertainment."

Kirby is no longer on Seattle radio and while he has been a part of the competition for some years now, he has remained a friend. Now, he is only friend. After all his years of fighting the good fight in Seattle (including a nationally recognized battle over HillaryCare), Kirby deserves to by thanked by conservatives throughout the Puget Sound.

I know his efforts to fight liberalism/socialism and pass conservatism on to the next generation will continue. Indeed they have been a defining characteristic of his life. But for his time building talk radio and being a part of the local vanguard, please join me in thanking Kirby Wilbur and wishing him well in all his future battles!

    The free market has spoken
isn't that a core conservative belief?

Thank you Kirby- you will be missed!
I have Kirby to thank for my conservative passion! When I was a senior in high school I began listening to Kirby and as a result fell in love with my country and talk radio. I really enjoyed the Kirby-David Boze team and he's the reason I am an avid David Boze fan. When we moved out of the state for a few years, I quickly learned how horrible it was not to have Kirby in the morning. I have dreamed my kids would learn about this great country and our freedom from Kirby- he is an awesome teacher! A true American hero! I already miss you, Thank you Kirby- Tracy Thompson

    Yep. That's the free market
And the free market in the best sense of conservative principle will be speaking to KVI.

Unbelievable. I have listened to Kirby for 16 years. He was (and IS) THE conservative voice in Seattle radio. How could KVI fire someone who has been the bedrock of their station? Unbelievable. Kirby: I hope this was not a unilateral decision on KVI's part but that you had other things "in the hopper." In any case, God bless, and hope to hear you somewhere else soon!

    Thank you Kirby
I have sent my email off to Fisher Broadcasting, though I know it won't do any good. Kirby, I have been listening to you since 93 and all I have to say is thank you. You have been a great morning show host and I look forward to hearing you again soon. As for everyone else, please contact KTTH and let them know that they need to drop Savage like a bad hairdo and pick up Kirby for three hours in the evening.

Fisher Broadcasting just shot themselves in the heart.
From Kirby's facebook page: Today was my last day on-air at KVI. Management chose not to renew my contract which expires 12/31. It was not my choice to leave. Thank you all for years of loyal listenership and friendship. I love you, you'll never know how much. Stay tuned right here for news and developments. I listen to "The Grasshopper" in the afternoons, but my morning was enjoyed listening to Kirby while I worked with my horses. Feeding and picking up "Schrammies". Fisher Broadcasting is insane....

    So sorry this has happened.
Thank you Kirby for all the work you've done. We will always be grateful for your efforts trying to talk some sense to what has become the most liberal bastion outside of San Francisco. I cannot believe how much this city has changed. We had a nice mix of liberals and conservatives years ago. Not anymore. Now Seattle is 80% liberal. I've never been around such unpleasant scowling people. Young liberals won't even get up and give an elderly woman a seat on the bus, I've see it over and over, they bury their noses in their books papers or laptops and don't have a notion of common courtesy. It's who they are, truly unpleasant individuals. Radio ratings are a tough game and Pat O'Day can tell you how quickly they change.

    I can't believe it.
I have been a Kirby listener since he started on KVI and he had a way of waking people up with outrageous liberal antics. Thank you Kirby. Sadly we now have no voice in WA- oh, except Dave. with all our technology why can't Kirby create his own internet/radio show, and we can all follow him there.

    why?
I don't see an explanation... I met him once at a BBQ, he is a really nice man. Very genuine. Definitely a patriot. :)
