Kirby Wilbur: Thank you for 16 years!

kirby

I remember hearing Kirby Wilbur's first show on radio and just hoping they'd give him another shot. They did, and he informed Puget Sound conservatives for 16 years. I had the privilege of working for him as his producer and fill-in for a few of those years. Kirby's a true believer, a warrior in the battlefield of ideas, and living proof that, contrary to claims in some parts of the media, talk radio is not "just entertainment."

Kirby is no longer on Seattle radio and while he has been a part of the competition for some years now, he has remained a friend. Now, he is only friend. After all his years of fighting the good fight in Seattle (including a nationally recognized battle over HillaryCare), Kirby deserves to by thanked by conservatives throughout the Puget Sound.

I know his efforts to fight liberalism/socialism and pass conservatism on to the next generation will continue. Indeed they have been a defining characteristic of his life. But for his time building talk radio and being a part of the local vanguard, please join me in thanking Kirby Wilbur and wishing him well in all his future battles!

Is this KVI's version of the Fairness Doctrine?
Unbelievable, Kirby. We could say 'shame on KVI' for behaving as they did, but I don't think they'd understand the concept. I'm sorry to see your show go away, Kirby, but I know you won't go away. I look forward watching you rise from the ashes. My vote is for Trina for First Lady, 2012!

    Thanks Kirby..
for fixing me up on that date with Sue in 1972. I'm still sore from that night and others...Oh and by the way...no, she wasn't.

    KVI isn't KVI anymore . . .
. . .without Kirby. I've listened to Kirby for years. I used to love the history quizzes he gave. He knows his history! My son was one of his students for US history last year and loves him. And he knows politics around here and around the nation. I trust him. I do hope and pray that this will be an opportunity for him to have an even bigger platform. God bless you, Kirby!

    So shocked
Kirby I am lost in the morning without you. For years I have listened to you and on several occasions met you and you always would stop and talk. KVI shame on them for their choice. They are butchering the local veiw with only Peter left and only 1 hour. Thank you David for giving us this chance to say our peace and let Kirby know you are loved and as for me I cannot wait to find out what your new adventure will be. The old saying when one door closes God opens an even greater one. It will be exciting for you you and Trina. Bless you both. Lena

    Where's Kirby Wilbur?
I am exceedingly disappointed that my LOCAL talk show host is no longer on the air! I DO NOT want to listen to a nationally syndicated talk show, although I do like Laura. I want LOCAL issues and LOCAL interests addressed. I have listened to the other station since 1990 and enjoyed Kirby since he first came on air. I appreciate his LOCAL take on issues and am very sorry, but I will have to switch my loyalties to another conservative station. Maybe--just maybe--I will listen to Mark Levin in the evening since he is the only other host I enjoy, but KTTH will become my home because at least they still have Dave Boze! LOCAL is where it is at! Fisher missed it on this decision, for certain. I guess Glenn Beck will become my morning company on the way to work, but Dave has always been my drive home company. Kirby, I hope we hear and see you often; we need your voice for conservative issues more than ever! I will truly miss you, my friend!

    Wilbur was a spinner
Perhaps folks (even the right wing fringe who listened to his show) got sick and tired of this loon outright lying about things the left supposedly is guilty of.I listened occasionally to his show because I want to here what the GOP folks are actually hearing but usually tired the show off as Kirby continued to babble his lunacy. I disagree that he provided any service to conservatives in the Puget Sound area because he was feeding them erroneous information (lies) and that's not helpful that's harmful to a DEmocracy

    Thank you!
Kirby, I'll miss having breakfast and my morning drive with you. You were a staple of my day. I will miss your insight and your history lessons. Thank you for all you do and have done on behalf of conservatism and support for the military! Hope to hear you again soon, if that's at all possible...

    You will be missed
I always made sure my radio was tuned to KVI so I could at least catch part of Wilbur's show. His opinions on national, and local matters, always made sense to me. He also seemed like a genuinely nice guy who would treat anyone, regardless of their political opinion, with respect. Keep up the good work.

    First off...
First off, I turned the radio on this morning and heard Laura and completely panicked thinking it was some alternate reality or 5pm. After my reorientation, I hit the KVI website looking for Kirby. I really don't get these program directors for yanking people like this. These people become part of our routines and part of our FAMILIES. I think it would be at least decent if we the listeners, you know...the people that buy products from your advertisers that pay your BILLS, if you could give us a heads up on major program changes. Sorry Mr. Program Director at KVI, I am all in at KTTH, 24 hours a day. You suck. I add to the sentiment to fill Savage's slot with Kirby. The man's message is sometimes good but always caustically delivered. I really don't care about Savage's butthurt in the UK, I DO care about local issues that Boze and Wilbur deliver with aplomb. Great post Dave, thank you for the forum. Be nice to Jake :)
