lofa tatupu 5b1 5dFirst the news, that Lofa Tatupu is done for the season. He is undergoing surgery on his left pectoral right now (as I type this at 2:29pm). He will go on injured reserve and it is likely Marcus Trufant will take him place on the active roster. That move doesn't have to be made until noon on Saturday.

Tatupu has battled injury for the second straight season. He suffered a hamstring injury in the season opener against St. Louis, then tried to come back the next week but played only one series in San Francisco. He then missed the next game against Chicago, but returned to play at Indianapolis. It was during the week 6 blowout by the Cardinals at Qwest Field when Tatupu injured the pec, ending his season.

Lofa is another one of those real tough guys. Last year he missed only one game but played with every injury you can imagine, including a broken thumb that forced to wear a hard cast for several games during the season. He missed only one game in 2008 despite the broken thumb, and chronic knee pain and swelling.

MattHasselbeck1Matt Hasselbeck was back at practice Wednesday, after resting from general soreness around his injured ribs yesterday. He says his recovery from the injury suffered in week two is coming along fine, "When they start to heal, everything gets a little tight and sticky, so I'm at the final stages."

Click below to hear Matt Hasselbeck with reporters after practice.

Here is the rest of the Injury Report from Thursday:

QB Matt Hasselbeck (Rib)

DE Patrick Kerney (Groin)

S C.J. Wallace Hamstring

I play for pain, and what little glory....
From the appearance of things, we don't need a coaching staff as much as we need a gang of EMTs and an ER staff on the sidelines (Hey! Nurse!! Now!!!). When is this hurtin gonna let up, or could it be overpublicized?! Ouch and then some... Good luck to our guys in Dallas, and hope everybody ends with just bumps and bruises only, media included...

    Great to hear...
... Matt Hasselbeck is back at practice? Great news, Matt Pitman. Thanks for the report. I LOVE Matt Hasselbeck as a leader on this team. Great to hear him speak with Paul Silvi after the Cardinal loss. Matt spoke about, "finding the things we (the Seahawk offence) do well." HOPE during they bye week he found gold with T.J. Houshmenzadah. And 14 yards on the gound -- yikes! I HOPE they found something, ANYTHING, that works as pertains to the rushing attack. Looking forward to the Cowboy game. Hoping the Seahawks can at least be competative this time. Don't hear anyone speaking about last year's Thanksgiving Day stinker, why is that? - E.C. Henry from Bonney Lake, WA

Be competitive and go with WIN attitude...
Mesage to coach Jim Mora....Please go to Dallas with a must WIN attitude....and be competitive on the field...if we upset COwboys and some luck from the other NFL teams (Panthers and Colts) beating our NFC West rivals...we will be back into the race for NFC-west. You know after all these adversities (injuries) we have been facing for last 2 yrs...their is some element of LUCK (from almighty)overdue for Seattle, hope it will come this weekend in our side and will help us creating some big turnovers....but please play with passion and give your 100%...dont panic, show them the films of Ravens-Vikings and Saints-Dolphins games and instill the spirit of coming back from behind and be competitive all the time...then and only then we have a chance to turn around this season. Bottomline players should believe in their own capabilities and believe in themselves...any Given Sunday a better playing team can WIN if they have will to WIN...Show them Al Pacino's movie "Any GIVEN Sunday"...might help as a boost for their confidence...Wish you all the Best...Go Hawks!!!! I will feel proud of seattle Seahawks if the score looks like 30-27...but if we again go down with score of 30-3..that means we seriously need some help from a sports psychologists to help restore confidence of our players..who are talented on paper, but are loosing confidence on the field. In NFL confidence is equally important to WIN the games.

forgot to mention...need some luck from the NFL refs too..
This LUCK is required specially for the visiting SeaHawks team...we dont want the repeat of INDY game where some of the HOLDING penalties negate BIG plays..just hoping the NFL refs are neutral and fair in calling the penalties.
