Pondexter named Pac-10 player of the week

The Pac-10 on Monday named the only senior on the No. 14 Huskies as the season's first conference player of the week.
Pondexter was co-MVP in the three-game Athletes In Action Classic with teammate Isaiah Thomas. Pondexter averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds in Washington's three wins over Wright State, Belmont and Portland State.
The inside-outside swing man scored a career-high 25 points Saturday night, then scored 29 points in the Huskies' rout of Portland State on Sunday.
This is the first time Pondexter has been a conference player of the week.
Washington next plays Friday night at home against San Jose State.
