The good Rev Jackson is a tool
I'm not sure who "elected" him as a leader in the black community, but none of the black people I know ever voted for him or even got a memo. He should have fade away years ago.

Calling Jackson a tool is an insult to tools
His emotional manipulation of those he claims to represent is impressive but it is always in his best interest, not theirs. His inflammatory commentary just seems to push the races apart and unless there is a "victim" in his story he loses relevance. As a conservative white male, raised in an area with limited race issues due to its remote nature, I grew up feeling guilty for all those who were subject to slavery and later, discrimination. I felt a need to apologize for the color of my skin to those who didn't share it. I've gone out of my way to do the right thing, including hiring practices with a specific focus on equal opportunity, fair treatment of all people, giving money and time to causes that supported those less fortunate, helping raise money for schools in the DR of the Congo, etc. Despite this, I just keep hearing that I'm a rascist bigot who is not allowed to question those in power just because of the color of my skin. Every time I hear Jesse Jackson's or Al Sharpton's voice I cringe. I am really feeling myself developing some strong negative feelings based on race. It is not based on the color of the skin but rather it is based on hatred of those who try to leverage the inter-racial guilt for their own gain. Some may have real issues with Pastor Ken Hutchins and his stand on gay rights but I've met and talked to him and respect him for taking a stand based on his version of right or wrong, NOT based on skin color. I may not agree with the message but I have no doubt it is authentic.

geez... you spent a lot of time declaring how your not racist. I believe you (one can hate a personality type regardless of race), however, this article isn't even related to you. Jackson is calling out black Congressional leaders for voting against a bill that DISPROPORTIONALLY effects black communities. Political emotional manipulation is American as apple pie, get used to it.

    Jackson should shut his trap
He would do well to heed that says, better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

    Real men regardless of color
Like to make their own choices........as long as they are not married, in which case the wife will tell you every thing you need to know.......including what you should wear.

What about all the people of mixed race...
These issues must be very confusing to them.

The white side wants to be against health care while the black side must be for it.

I don't understand what race has to do with it...
although my family isn't black, we ARE minorites (Puerto Rican, actually) and are pretty capable of making our own healthcare decisions and not expecting the government to coddle us because of our skin color.
