Jarrod Washburn has been traded to the Tigers . Details to come . .
Edit - Jarrod Washburn traded to the Tigers for LHP Luke French and High-A LHP Mauricio Robles. The deal is now official.
I texted with Jarrod after the deal was announced and he is excited for the opportunity in Detroit but will miss Seattle. It's no secret that he wanted to remain a Mariner so the news has to be bittersweet for him.
I was a vocal proponent for the M's keeping Washburn, especially if the return was a position player. Given that they got back two young lefthanders (one who is in the majors), how can we be too upset here? Luke French pitched well against the Mariners this year, giving up just 2 runs in 5.2 innings.
Don't know much about Robles, but I'm sure Jason Churchill will have details.
- ESPN's Trent Dilfer: "If I were playing QB for the Seattle Seahawks, TJ would not have 85 targets to this point."
- WSU men's basketball coach Ken Bone: "I'm excited to be a part of the Pac-10"

Brock Huard played football for his father, Mike, at Puyallup High School before moving on to the University of Washington. There Brock erased older brother Damon's name on several season and career passing records. Brock spent the first three years of his professional career with the Seahawks before being traded to Indianapolis. He rejoined the Seahawks in 2004 and ended his career that season.
