It has been quite an emotional and educational week in the Sounder Nation. Radio Sounders was present at the Seattle Sports Commission awards to rub shoulders with a whole host of sporting celebrities, none of whom we recognised. However by Saturday, we were back amongst our own at the George and Dragon, where Gorilla FC held an enormously successful benefit for Medecin Sans Frontiers, the medical charity currently saving lives in Haiti. We hear from Kevin Zelko, the Gorilla FC Group leader on how the event came about and from Sounders FC General Manager Adrian Hanauer on his break away from football and get his thoughts on the state of the Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations. But back to this episode which starts with Haitian musician Altiery Doval singing Ti Ca, in the Creole tongue, native to his homeland. There is a bit of opera on this week's show segueing nicely into a look at the Milan derby, and we reveal who are the two of the three Radio Sounders, "SOUNDERS WE'RE ROOTING FOR IN 2010?", with a surprise thrown in. Goal Seattle's David Falk joins Steve Clare of Prost America for his debut on Radio Sounders. No shortage of opinions here, folks: Players, coaches, fans, ownership, the media... no one is safe! Props to Dave for suggesting the intro music for this episode, Owl City's "Hello Seattle."

Steve Clare of ProstAmerika's groundbreaking interview with Sounders' head couch Sigi Schmid, recorded just before Christmas 2009. The conversation ranges from Sigi's emmigration to the States from Germany, his success as a college and MLS coach, his feelings about the Sounders' inaugural season, and beyond -- Is national team duty in his future? A very personal, candid talk with the 'winningest' (sorry Steve!) coach in MLS history and one of the top soccer minds in the United States. A must-listen perspective for any sports fan!

about...
I'm a longtime soccer player and fan. My career started
with the Audubon Owls, the meanest group of 1st graders
ever to play 'small side' ball (6 v. 6 players on the
field). We won every game (who kept score?) and ate orange
slices at half time. I was hooked immediately.
Somewhere along the line I was drafted as a goalkeeper--a
sure sign of crazyness. The pressure felt by keepers is
intense. In mere seconds you can become the hero or the
goat of the entire match. But for me, nothing was more
rewarding than launching myself across the goal and feeling
the thrill of a big save.
After years of local recreational, high school, and select
club play, I'm excited to learn and fall in love with our
new MLS side along with the rest of the Pacific Northwest.
Before long, we'll all be bleeding neon-green and blue.
Go Sounders!
