The Olympic Flight Museum will host Rocket Races on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 1:00 pm. The Rocket Races consists of crafting a propeller-driven balsa rocket kit which is powered by rubber bands. The rockets are shaped, painted and decorated in advance by participants with the guidance of parents or other family members. After assembly, the rockets race along a monofilament line in competition with others within a judging level. Rocket kits and competition fees are $15.00. The rockets are sold in advance of the racing competition, and are available now. This rocket activity teaches the principles of jet propulsion while encouraging craftsmanship, sportsmanship and friendly competition. Divisions include youth and adult, with rocket races judged by grade level. Participant and winner ribbons will be awarded. The rocket kits are available at the Olympic Flight Museum. Get your rocket kits now, and plan to join us for a fun day of rocket racing at the Olympic Flight Museum on November 17th.
