Featuring the lyrical and joyful sounds of Celtic harps, hammered dulcimers, violins, cello, whistles, concertina, percussion and more, each Celtic Yuletide performance is more than a concert – it's a holiday gala of Celtic-inspired song, dance, theater and storytelling. The concerts are staged annually by three generations of the multitalented Boulding family and special guests, and are the perfect holiday event for young and old. Each Celtic Yuletide Concert offers lovely and delicate Celtic renditions of seasonal carols, soulful seasonal original compositions, and dance, juggling and storytelling. At the height of the evening, the audience joins the festivities, with an invitation to don a costume and join the processional through the aisles with the musicians in the ancient tradition. As always, an unforgettable holiday celebration comes to a close as the hall resounds in glorious harmony from musicians and audience alike on traditional carols, and ending with the lovely classic "All Through the Night."
For its 2012 Celtic Yuletide concerts, Magical Strings will be joined by the Raney Irish Dancers and the Tara Academy of Irish Dance, with soulful Irish songs from acclaimed vocalist Colleen Raney with Dublin-born guitarist Colm MacCárthaigh, Canadian fiddler Jocelyn Pettit, and Matt Jerrell with his impeccable percussion, all creating a remarkable celebration to kindle the light of Yuletide, better than ever in its 34th year! Boulding daughter Brittany, a brilliant violinist (and concert master of the Auburn Symphony and Northwest Symphonetia) will offer a dazzling special solo in Seattle, as well.
