Hear some of Seattle's best young jazz musicians as Garfield Jazz Bands I, II and III take the stage together for the first time this season. Students from across Seattle, from Columbia City to Crown Hill, Madison Valley to Magnolia, and Wallingford to West Seattle swing hard in a toe-tapping concert of standards, blues and a Latin tune or two under the direction of the inimitable Clarence Acox, Jr., world-renowned trumpeter Jay Thomas, and Scott Lytle. The acclaimed Garfield Jazz program has won every major high school jazz competition on the West Coast as well as the Essentially Ellington Competition and Festival at New York's Lincoln Center.
