I am trying to get the word out, as we have a short deadline before the committee to approve the grant visits in mid-April to make a decision. We are also proposing to build a trailhead at the entrance to this center so that bicyclists, walkers and anyone would have access to this cool place. This center has handicap access and facilities so everyone is welcome and can enjoy a day out while keeping fit.
Help us save Monarch Art Sculpture Park! We are asking for volunteers for 3 work parties to help with general clean up, mowing, general maintenance and some spiff and polish to this phenomenal Thurston County resource! Creekside Conservancy has applied for a grant to acquire this property so that it can be maintained to fulfill the mission envisioned by creator. That mission is to foster the creation and the presentation of sculpture by the emerging and the professional sculptor. Personal growth, experimentation, and exploration are encouraged.
Join us for a work party and see the treasures this site has to offer! Get lost in the beauty of over 110 contemporary sculptures; Hedge Maze in shape of a butterfly; Fantasy Garden; Bird and Butterfly Garden; Japanese Garden; Sound Garden (Sculptural Musical Instruments); Nature Walk and more. Plenty of parking and facilities.
Work parties are scheduled for March 16, March 30, and April 6 from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm. Bring your gloves, a sack lunch and join us to restore this jewel of Thurston County.
