114 year old Japanese Baptist Church will hold its annual Sukiyaki Dinner on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Take out (including curbside service) from 2:00 PM to 7:00PM. Dine in service from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Take time to peruse the bake and craft sale tables along with an ikebana display. Also available are items made by victims of the 2011 Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. These people have lost family members, their homes and their way to make a living. Housed in temporary camps, these items bring in a small income for them. Just before 7:00 PM, you will hear the thunder of NW Taiko to start the free Cultural Program which will feature dancing by the Japanese Community Queen’s Court; Koto and Shamisen by Kuniko Takamura and Marcia Takamura; Japanese calligraphy and Japanese poem singing and songs performed by the Evergreen Glee Club .
