The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today that it will return to KeyArena in Seattle on Saturday, July 27 with a nationally-televised fight card set to air live on FOX. This will be the organization's third consecutive annual event at KeyArena. After hosting a sold-out event in March 2011, UFC returned to the city last December and once again drew a sellout crowd and an estimated $1.5 million gate.
UFC officials expect to announce fights for the card in the weeks to come, as well as ticket information. Two Seattle-area fighters currently hold UFC championships, as Parkland's Demetrious Johnson is the organization's flyweight (125 pounds) champion, while Federal Way's Benson Henderson holds the lightweight (155 pounds) title.
