Music Works Northwest http://www.musicworksnw.org is hosting the second season of the Eastgate Chamber Music Festival. All concerts start at 7:30 pm, with tickets available on Brown Paper Tickets
Coordinated by Dr. Linda Bailey and Klaus Liebetanz, both on the flute faculty of Music Works Northwest, this festival will be the first summer concert series focusing chamber music on the Eastside.
In its second year the festival will take place during two weeks in August, from 8/13 through 8/23. A grass-roots effort by Music Works Northwest faculty this series provides high quality chamber music on the Eastside, enriching the cultural scene of our area by drawing a wider public to Bellevue.
Tuesday, August 13, the concert features Oboe, Bassoon and Clarinet trios including Jacques Ibert’s Cinq Piece en Trio.
Thursday, August 15, the Bella Sala String Quartet performs Serenade in C Major, Op. 10 by Ernö Dohnányi and Borodin's String Quartet #2.
Friday, August 16, the Ivory Winds Trio presents works by Doppler and Koechlin, as well as contemporary pieces by Katherine Hoover and Gary Schocker.
Tuesday, August 20, a concert featuring the flute, including works by Debussy, Kuhlau and Eric Ewazen.
Thursday, August 22, an evening of art song and operatic arias, including works by Fauré, Brahms, Rossini and Puccini.
Friday, August 23, the second annual Eastgate Chamber Music Festival concludes with encore performances for flute and voice.
