Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen at 601 W Holly St, Bellingham is excited to host the 4th Annual Bellingham Tweed Ride on October 13. After a casual tour through the Bellingham community the bike run will end at Chuckanut Brewery for refreshments and activities.
This Sunday, Tweed Ride participants will meet up at Maritime Heritage Park (500 W. Holly Street, Bellingham) at 12:30pm (departure time 1pm). The parade is expected to last a few hours, making their final stop at Chuckanut Brewery around 2:30pm for post parade partying for all ages! This event is put on by everybodyBIKE, a local organization working to promote an active lifestyle specializing in teaching safety procedures for bikers of all ages, teaching traffic safety procedures, providing skill courses for children, and providing parent/child family classes. They also provides opportunities to join cycling clubs & groups across the Bellingham community.
The Tweed Ride originated in London where participants dressed in traditional British cycling attire on vintage classic bicycles to embrace and recreate the spirit of the bygone era. Since 2009, the Tweed Ride has become a worldwide phenomenon attracting both bicycle enthusiasts and lovers of the vintage fashions. Proper attire is encouraged, however it is not required to join this “Metropolitan Cycle Ride With a Bit of Style.”
Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen, located at 601 West Holly St, was awarded the National Small Brewpub/Brewer of the Year 2009 and National Small Brewery/Brewer of the Year 2011 at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO. The full service “Kitchen” is open daily at 11:30am to guests of all ages with an eclectic fresh local menu. Bar specials include: HOPPY Hour Sun-Thurs 4-6pm, Monday Night $3 Pints, Kolsch Night Tuesday’s and more.
