Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas presents:
From August Wilson to Quincy Jones and Octavia Butler to Reggie Watts, Seattle has been home to a host of Black creative cultural producers/artist that have exploded on the national and international arts scenes. Among the talented artist who call Seattle their home is the highly acclaimed artistic director of Spectrum Dance Theater, Donald Byrd. As our guest curator for "Showing Out", Mr. Byrd will draw from Seattle's local black creative arts scene while taking a look at what's happening beyond our borders to surface the most talented and courageous black voices. The performances will be choreographed by emerging local artists who are being mentored by the TONY Award- nominated Mr. Byrd. This program is sure to surprise and delight audiences as we enjoy the creation of one of Seattle's most talented luminaries in the realm of dance. Directed by, Sadiqua Iman, Dani Tirell & Markieth Wiley.
