Income and wealth inequality between those at the top and the rest of us is at a record high. Recent economic news is focused on short-term budget crisis with little regard for demographic trends, changes in the labor market and widening opportunity gaps.
What will happen over the long-term if we keep relying on the flawed theory that a high concentration of wealth at the top would trickle down and create greater prosperity and a strong economy for all of us?
Join us Wednesday, December 11th at Town Hall Seattle for a conversation with Heather McGhee and Jared Bernstein about income inequality, the shrinking middle class and what we can do to reverse this troubling direction. KUOW’s Ross Reynolds will be moderating the event.
