In anticipation of the birthday observances for Dr. Martin Luther King, a series of educational presentations will be offered, to be followed by discussion. The first presentation will be from Tom McCarthy and Steve Nebel, entitled “Civil Rights Movement --Racism in Unions, Yesterday and Today”. Four more weekly presentations will follow. On December 22nd the theme will be The Massey Lectures. On December 29th the group will celebrate the civil rights era by examining and listening to it’s music with facilitation by Laurie Arnold. Sonja Morgan will prepare a look at the civil rights era on January 5th. On January 12th the presentation will focus on the past and present influences of Dr. Martin Luther King on youth.
