Greg Navratil has been painting full-time since 1989 using primarily acrylics to create works that reflect his interpretations of nature’s chaos using precise painting techniques. Bursting with brilliant, vibrant colors, Greg uses a methodical grid pattern layout on the surface of his canvas. When viewed close up his paintings seems haphazard, but from a distance the colors and shapes combine to form a recognizable representation.

A graduate of sculpture and painting at Metropolitan State College in Denver, Navratil moved to the Oregon coast in 2003 where he renovated a historical schoolhouse into a studio/home with high ceilings and abundant space. Surrounding this location is acres of woodlands and gardens that are often the source of his inspiration for his artwork.

On Mother’s Day weekend (this year May 9 – 11) the annual Art In Bloom exhibit hosted by the Port Angeles Garden Club will use Greg Navratil’s painting this year as their inspiration for specially created flower arrangements.
