On the Mariners' front, Iwakuma was hammered in an 8-4 loss to the Diamondbacks at home. Ugh. Also, Pete Carroll is on the Sports Illustrated cover this week and he talks about the SB loss and the grit it takes to lead this team through it.

The Mariners are playing like they want to compete. But, they're still 9 games under and Fernando Rodney still sucks in the worst way. Also, Randy Johnson's in the Hall of Fame. Nice. John Clayton explains why Russell will have $40 million in his pocket between now and February. Professor says deal gets done? Who's to say now that the deal won't get done? Salk? Anyone?
