Amid Boeing's problems with the Dreamliner, the leadership council of Boeing's white-collar union will ask its members for authorization to call a strike. The man who helped develop the lithium ion batteries used in the now grounded Dreamliner will receive the National Medal of Science at the White House today. His name is, no joke, John Goodenough. // City officials are talking about putting 30 security cameras along the city's shoreline -- from Fauntleroy to Golden Gardens -- to aid in emergency response and criminal info gathering. Privacy advocated aren't happy. // It was a year ago that Josh Powell set his house on fire, killing himself and his two young boys. Today in Olympia, lawmakers are unveiling a bill that's aimed at preventing a similar tragedy from happening. The measure would put tougher restrictions on visitation and custody in cases where a parent is accused of murder. // Two San Francisco 49ers featured in an It Gets Better video are denying they produced the clip. Shown the clip, Ahmed Brooks said Oh, that. It was an anti-bullying video, not a gay [rights] video. Applebee's this morning has issued an official statement concerning the controversial termination of server who posted a cheapskate's receipt to Reddit. Applebee's says the waitress violated the customer's privacy rights.
