PEDs are back! They never really went away it seems, as now Mariners catcher/DH Jesus Montero has been linked to a clinic known to distribute PEDs to other ballplayers. What does this mean for Montero’s future? There is precedent for players being suspended without testing positive for PEDs. What kind of example does all this PED use set for the children? Are athletes role models that all kids look up to? Why aren’t actors and musicians held to this same standard? Is it pro athlete’s fault if your child decides to take PEDs? Or should the parents or kids themselves take responsibility for that choice?
