Felix Hernandez signs a 7-year contract extension. Colin and Matt go over the pros and cons and how much the Mariners have left for other resources with Felix taking up roughly a quarter of the payroll. Colin wonders if the money won’t be better spent spread around the roster. Callers weigh in on the Felix contract and love keeping a homegrown star in town. Could this signing be the beginning of attracting free agents to town? One of those free agents could be Joe Saunders who has reportedly signed a one-year deal with the Mariners. He joins a staff who needed a veteran to fill the loss of Jason Vargas and the guys say he’s enough like Vargas that you basically got Kendys Morales for nothing.
