Can the Mariners seriously contend for a wildcard spot? The guys think some of the young guys need to have some breakout seasons not only to contend this year, but to set themselves up for future pennant races. Can a Michael Saunders be a 30/30 player? Can Dustin Ackley bat .300? Can Jesus Montero hit 30 or more homers? This can be a huge reason for a push to a playoff spot when you add Kendrys Morales and Mike Morse who take the pressure off the young guys. If one or more of the young players struggle, they will do it farther down in the lineup. Tom thinks there is one trade Jack Zduriencik made that doesn't make any sense to him. And that is the Doug Fister to the Tigers for Wells, Furbush and a couple minor leaguers. If you had Fister behind Felix and added Iwakuma and Saunders behind him, wouldn't you feel a whole lot better about this rotation? Bill Walton is up to his antics. He compared Tyreke Evans to Einstein because of a brilliant play. As a part-time color announcer for the Kings, what would a broadcast sound like if you partnered Kevin Calabro with Bill Walton on a broadcast?
