Colin, Tom and Matt ponder even if the "Three-Headed Monster" of Justin Smoak, Jesus Montero and Dustin Ackley fail, but guys like Kyle Seager and Michael Saunders improve, how will you feel about the job Jack Zduriencik has done as GM? Does at least one of the trio of underperforming guys need to improve for him to keep his job? Two major flaws in the current Mariners roster are at shortstop and catcher. What move(s) can be made to attempt to fix the problems? Matt thinks Montero needs to go to Double-A and DH everyday (because there really is no defensive position for him). Brendan Ryan at SS just needs to be traded somehow and Robert Andino needs to go back to backup infielder. OK, who takes their place at the big league level? Well, Shannon Drayer thinks the team could bring up catcher Jesus Sucre from Tacoma and keep Mike Zunino developing in AAA. He can hit a little bit and is pretty good defensively. They didn't get around to talking SS, but Shannon did say earlier today that Carlos Triunfel is closer than Nick Franklin who hasn't played SS too much this season.
