There is a disturbing trend happening on the Seattle Seahawks having drug violations and DUIs among other things. The Seahawks may even be fined by the NFL for the drug violations. Does this mean there is a culture of looking the other way when it comes to off the field issues with Seahawks management? Tom thinks the blame can't be with Pete Carroll can supervise all the players at all times. What can he do? Colin says, he just has to stress the rules even more than he does now.
According to Peter King of Sports Illustrated, the Seahawks may need to change the type of players they draft to avoid off the field or drug related issues. But Colin argues that the Seahawks don't regret drafting Brandon Browner, Bruce Irvin or even Richard Sherman so, do they really need to change anything? Tom doesn't believe the type of players they are drafting is the reason for drug violations.
Colin and Tom aren't too worried about Bruce Irvin missing four games, but they are really nervous about today's news that newly acquired pass rusher Cliff Avril had to sit out today with plantar fasciitis. Red Bryant dealt with this issue last season and wasn't nearly as effective as he was in year's past. If there's any good news about this, it's that he's dealing with this in May, and can hopefully heal up before the season starts.
