One woman fights public urination with vigilante toilets in Pioneer Square
Originally aired: Thursday, July 11, 2013
For Seattle's Pioneer Square, public urination is more than just a nuisance, it keeps tourists and customers away. Frustrated by the lack of action from the city, Joanna Urrego of Klondike Penny's Old Time Portrait Studio decided to take matters into her own hands: On the Fourth of July, she set up two homemade outhouses, complete with little carved half-moons, near the entrance to her studio in Seattle's Occidental Park. But business owners throughout Pioneer Square are looking for a more permanent solution.
