What a Black Seattle Dad Told His Son After Trayvon Martin's Death

Originally aired: Monday, July 22, 2013

Associate editor of The Stranger, Charles Mudede, says his parents gave him a talk 30 years ago, about how to act if a white police officer, or a strange person, engages with him. After Trayvon Martin's death, he gave the same speech to his 17 year old son. He says he'd rather his son lose his rights than lose his life.
