Following yesterday's bus shooting downtown, many are wondering why drivers aren't more protected. The transit union has rejected previous calls for bulletproof glass on Metro buses, but Monday's shooting will likely renew discussions. // Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has unveiled an imaginary train that could (as long as you don't look closely at specific details) whisk passengers between Los Angeles and San Francisco in 30 minutes. // A federal judge yesterday threw out the racial bias claim filed against Paula Deen by a former restaurant manager. A Swiss shop clerk who last week Oprah accused of racism now says Winfrey's claims are absurd. Oprah says the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. // Following the death of an 18-year-old WSU student last year, the university has been looking at ways to curb underage drinking. Starting this fall, WSU will schedule more classes on Friday as well as call the parents of drunk students. The university is also considering a proposal to phase out fraternities.
