How are we still having white people wearing blackface on Halloween? Andrew finds himself actually defending one of them today. -Pottery Barn pulled some Japanese-themed costumes that were deemed offensive by an Asian advocacy group. -The huge sriracha plant in Southern California is in hot water for making their neighbors' eyes water. Local residents are complaining that the plant gives off a strong odor that keeps them indoors. -An estimated tenth of the cooking oil used in China is made from sewer, dumpster, gutter, and garbage. So called gutter oil is a cheap, carcinogenic alternative to buying real cooking oil. -Our blog has a new running series: Stuff on Andrew's desk. Today, we highlight Andrew's jackalope. He used to think they were real animals.
