Pot shops, sexists Oscars and smoking in cars

Originally aired: Thursday, January 16, 2014

Can cities block pot shops from going into business? Attorney General Bob Ferguson joins the show to discuss why cities can ban marijuana shops. Are the Oscars sexist? MSNBC's Krystal Ball thinks so. Jason explores why we separate the actor and actress awards. A new bill making its way around Olympia is calling for a ban on smoking in cars with kids. The bill's author, Rep. Steve Bergquist (D-WA), explains how it would be enforced and what the punishments would entail. Jason isn't sure if this is the best method to affect change. Another day, another magazine cover controversy. This time Vogue's cover featuring Lena Dunham has been called out in the media. Jason is sick of people fighting on behalf of others, especially when Dunham has come on record saying she likes the photo.
