"Oakland of the North," George Zimmerman and abortions
Originally aired: Thursday, February 6, 2014
An article from the NYT's calling Seattle the "Oakland of the North" has Rantz up in arms. He has never heard of the comparison and isn't sure if he is offended or not. Backlash against the George Zimmerman "celebrity" boxing match continued today. For the second time tonight Rantz was conflicted. He thinks it is wrong but acknowledges that Zimmerman is not-guilty and unable to have a normal job now. Rep. Laurie Jinkins, a leading sponsor of the Reproductive Parity Act, joins Rantz to discuss mandating insurance companies to cover abortions costs. She explains why it is necessary, where the insurers stand and what this has to do with a women's right to choose. KIRO's Tim Haeck reports on why college students are using cars less often. Rantz thinks the Seattle City Council should look at this before making their decision to regulate ride-sharing services.
