Candidate Statement:
To most Americans, quality of life starts with a having a good job to provide for our families. That's why I continue to stand against an endless array of taxes and over-reaching regulations that stifle economic growth, kill jobs and limit our freedom.
As your councilman, I work for you because, after public safety, the primary job of government is protecting the individual rights and liberty of everyone. Government no longer respects the labor and wealth of individuals, evidenced by escalating taxes, bailouts, and huge budget deficits. Therefore, I'm reaffirming my long-standing pledge that I will not vote for new or increases in existing taxes.
I'm interested in seeing that the private sector flourishes - where jobs and wealth are created - so that our children and grandchildren have their shot at the American Dream. We can't do that if we borrow so far into their future that all they can do in a lifetime is pay
for our mistakes.
I hope you've found me faithful in living up to the principles I've held to since first running for this office. I would be honored to continue serving as your Snohomish County Councilman. I humbly ask for your vote.

Candidate Statement:
Ellen Hiatt Watson is your clear choice for County Council.
Ellen will work for you to build a better county by putting
community over politics. Her childhood home was built on a
foundation of hard work. She worked her way through college, as a journalist and today is a local, small business owner.
She rallied her community to hold government accountable and her commitment resulted in the county council's 3-2 decision to eliminate the largest threat to managed growth, new cities in rural areas. That's too close for comfort. We need her voice. By working with stakeholders and political leaders, Ellen has held government accountable to all of us, not just interest groups with money. She will continue to work for you.
Ellen will:
Say NO to new taxes, Protect our environment and quality of life, Secure resources for North Snohomish County
Proudly endorsed by: County Council Members Mike Cooper,
Dave Gossett, Dave Somers, Brian Sullivan; Executive Aaron
Reardon; Sheriff John Lovick; State Senators Steve Hobbs and Mary Margaret Haugen; Representatives Hans Dunshee and John McCoy; Washington Conservation Voters; Sierra Club; Snohomish County Labor Council AFL-CIO; NW Building and Construction Trades; Firefighters IAFF 1997 and many others!
