TBTL Episode # 435 Open Thread: TBTL, The VERY Early Days!

tbtl-1
This is going to be the most successful radio show ever. Or be cancelled in 1.5 years. One of the two.

I'm flying down to LA right during showtime today, but we've got quite a treat for you... the VERY FIRST HOUR OF TBTL EVER.

Tune in today @ Noon if you've ever wondered what this little experiment sounded like on it's maiden voyage (spoiler alert... not that good). We were nervous, giddy, inexperienced, and slightly drunk. If you listen closely you can almost hear my heart beating out of my chest.

Tomorrow we'll hook the lappy toppies up to the intertubes and do a live show from LA (our first ever outside the confines of Burbank Studios). The chances are pretty good we'll be nervous, giddy and slightly drunk (hell, it worked for that first show, why mess with success?)

See you then!

    Roll Call!
I've listened to every single episode TBTL has ever produced. I guess it's 434 so far. Anyone else? I fondly recall this initial episode as it was al I needed to get hooked on this show. Scrappy as it was...

    Scrappy (not crappy) radio
I listened to episode 1 a while back out of curiosity. I was surprised at how many in-jokes and drops were there at the beginning. Also, there's a sweet story (and an official recording) of Orion here: http://is.gd/4O4Gm-

It's 12:15. UStream not working yet: "Off Air" still. Anyone else with problem? Luke are you doing OK?

    Me too, QA Chuck
A few days before the first episode Luke posted something maybe on his Facebook status (not sure) saying that he had a new show you could listen to online. I remember being pretty sure after listening that it could eventually be totally great. And here we are, lo these many episodes later, and it's totally great. It's been long enough now, I think I'm about ready to listen again.

    Luke would agree...
TBTL #1 was the original 'cringe' episode, but lovable as well.

I've heard them all too. After I discovered the show I went on a Comic Book Guy-esque collector splurge and had to download, catalog, and listen to them all! It's how my OCD works. I have to read/listen/watch every moment of every thing I get into.

    Cringey!
But, wow! It's also amazing how much the "Azteca" factor comes through. :-D
