Wait, Why Does The Destruction Of This 2 Million Dollar Car Fill Me With Joy?

Via Buzzfeed and our dear friend Tanner over there:

"A man in Texas drove his Bugatti Veyron, which costs about $2 million, into a lake after a low-flying pelican caused him to drop his cell phone, and he bent over to pick it up. All of this happened as two teenagers in another car were recording him as they admire his car."

I've watched this like 15 times this morning. Here's the thing, if it was an '82 Celica, I would feel terrible for the person, but I guess I just assume anyone who can get their hands on a 2 million dollar car is also kind of a doucher (which, I know, it not a reasonable thing to assume).

Anyway, however badly you screwed something up today, take comfort in the fact that you didn't crash a 2 million dollar car into a lake in Texas while some kids videotaped it.

So space car has bluetooth built in but this guy doesn't have bluetooth in his $2 million car? He couldn't spend $30 on a doucher headset? Or he could have pulled over to get his phone, there was a nice grassy area where right before he went off the road that would have been perfect.

    Oh, that'll buff right out.
The "lake" is probably a petroleum refinery runoff Superfund pond (out of 23 such ponds in that county, this being Texas). I bet the whale penis leather is water-resistant.

    Suddenly
Those no-talking on your cellphone while driving laws make a lotta sense. (Now if they could only police low flying pelicans...)

    I have no idea...
of the validity of this but the word on the internets is that this guy owns a company that restores and flips expensive cars so this might possibly be a publicity stunt. I mean what are the odds that someone would be filming this as it happened? Course he could have gone with a cheaper car to wreck so who knows.

    hmmmm nice
well... the car is 2 million and I think Volkswagon loses money on each one ( I know BOO HOO right?) W16 engines are expensive, as is the transmission... Anyway, if you can afford a 2 million dollar car, you can afford to wreck it and have it repaired... hope he didn't get water in that engine, it's probably half a mil just to replace that.

The owner of the car hates blogs
cause it's been removed from youtube now. "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Joe M Garza." :(
