WashingTENS Brunch Meetup This Saturday

obama-edit-tbtl

Yeah, he'll probably be there.

Shira and Anne Louise are convening a little 10's hangout DC this Saturday @ Social in Columbia Heights, and they'd love to see your shining face! Being the classy DC bunch that they are, it'll be a brunch affair. So far they've got 5-6 folks signed up, but I bet there are more of you lurking in the DC/Northern Virginia/ Maryland/ West Virginia (also known as the new Northern Virginia!) areas who would have a fab time if you trekked on over to meet up with these fine ladies.

For more info, check out their facebook group

Okay I'm sorry but you don't get to use Washingtens for Washington DC
I'm in Oregon now, but when I was living in Washington I hated it when I visited FL and said I was from Washington and everyone assumed that meant DC... Washington is a state, we shouldn't have to say Washington State, you should have to say Washington DC! I don't say I'm from Oregon State, people would think I was talking about the college. !!!! (quadsclimationpoint) :p

    Also...
why not just say DC for Washington DC? It's even shorter!

Sorry, dude, we were here first
Sorry you have to append "State," but "Washington City" in the District of Columbia has been around since before Lewis and Clark first introduced white people to the Pacific Northwest. We also claimed WashingTENS first - although that came significantly later. In conclusion, nanny nanny boo boo :-p

    Oh, and about the brunch...
Social's a pretty new place, but the service and food has been good when I've gone. As have the $15 bottomless mimosas and bloody marys. God, are those good.

    Psh...
yeah well state trumps city. If there were a Washington country or a Washington planet, or galaxy, universe, multiverse etc I wouldn't mind adding the specifier in non-local conversation. so :p back!

    Oy!
State or City, we are all Tens. I am originally from Florida—there's a Melbourne, Naples, and Jupiter, Florida. Now that's confusing! Can't wait to meet all my Washingt- err, Tens from the Greater District of Columbia

Washingtens are of the Evergreen State variety. I almost wish I lived in DC - I'd love to be known as a DC-10! A much cooler name in my opinion.

    Confusion
Until I was about seven years old I rooted for the Redskins, thinking they were our team. Cue The Price is Right horn when I found out they were far away and we wouldn't get a team for five more years.
