Radio news must be in my
blood
because I've now been working at it for 35 years here in
the Pacific Northwest! I started in Spokane after
graduating from Gonzaga University, later worked for a
year in Portland, and worked at two other stations here in
Seattle before joining KIRO in 1984. More
Linda Thomas: Anchor
A journalist for 24 years, Thomas has been a freelance
broadcast, print and online journalist, writing for local
publications including The Seattle Times, Reuters, Puget
Sound Business Journal, and Seattle's Child magazine. More
Tony Miner: Money
Tony is a veteran of the
Seattle
airwaves, having logged nearly 25 years on various AM and
FM frequencies. His news work at KIRO has rewarded him
with a mantle full of Murrow awards, including the best
newscast in America in 2005 and 2008.More
Bill Swartz: Sports
Born in Pennsylvania, Bill's
family
made him move to Tacoma, Washington in 1968. He's been in
the Northwest ever since. His wife is Connie, and kids are
Jordan and Brad. Hobbies include golf, soccer, and
relaxing in wine country. More
Dan Restione: Executive Producer
An East Coast
boy, born and raised, he followed a girlfriend
west and aside from a yearly jaunt back to the homeland,
he's stayed put in the Northwest. In addition to
assignment and management duties, Dan does the News Talk
97.3 KIRO FM food reviews, "Stick a Fork in it," and is
often handed bizarre feature stories that no one else
would touch. More
James Rynasiewicz: Editor
James is one of the
newsroom's East Coast transplants. Born and raised in
Rhode Island, he got his first radio gig at URI while
still in high school. He has travelled many thousands of
miles to produce your news, and couldn't be happier to be
a young Seattleite. More
