I was born in the Philippines and our family lived and traveled around the world until 1978, when we moved to Eugene, Oregon (of all places!). I graduated from the University of Oregon in 1988, with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Telecommunications and Film.
My career at NEWS TALK 710 KIRO started in 1988 when I was hired as the Morning Desk Assistant. Soon after, I became the Afternoon Editor and then hit the streets as a full-time reporter in 1991. Some of the most memorable stories I covered during my ten years of reporting included the WTO riots; the Northlake Shipyard shooting, the Wenatchee sex ring trial and the Nisqually earthquake. I also won a Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting after uncovering a local child modeling scam.
In 2001, I became the Managing Editor and in 2005, I was promoted to News Director. Since 2002, News Talk 710 KIRO has dominated the RTNDA Edward R. Murrow competition, winning more than 30 regional and 7 national awards. Working with such a talented and dedicated group of journalists is an absolute joy and I feel very fortunate to be part of KIRO and the Bonneville family.
I live in northeast Seattle with my husband, Mark, and our two sons, Stephen and Erik. In our spare time, we love playing all kinds of sports and enjoy traveling to exotic and warm locations.
