Wednesday isn't just the first day of fall, it's also World Car-Free Day.
It's a day when you're encouraged to leave your car at home and bike or walk to work or school.
Organizers say it's the perfect time to take heat off the planet, and they're putting it on city planners and politicians to give priority to biking, walking, and public transportation.
However, not everyone agrees. Sam Kazman, the general counsel of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, says people should protest the day by driving.
"The automobile is one the most liberating technologies," says Kazman. "It was something that was developed by mankind. It allows people to go where they want to when they want to. It is something that has hugely increased the range of choices of such things as where we live and where we work."
