Four Loko may have been used in rape

The alcoholic energy drink Four Loko might have been used in the rape of a West Seattle teenager.

Two 15-year-old girls say Todd Phelan gave them Four Loko and vodka at his apartment after picking them up near a youth center.

The girls say they wanted to leave, but they were too drunk to do much of anything.

One of the girls claims the 34-year-old raped her repeatedly while she was out of it.

The West Seattle Herald reports Phelan admitted to getting them drunk but denies the rape. He also says he believed the girls were 18.

He's charged with child rape.

    ..but the beverage consumed is irrelevant. Beyond the intentions of the alleged rapist, these girls being 15 years old knew better than to get in a car with a stranger. They knew better than to drink anything. Didn’t they?

    The article also mentions vodka, are "they" going to now question who sold the vodka and why isn't it being looked at as being dangerous???? I agree with Loud Larry, what were these girls thinking? Is this going to be the new standard, blame the drink not the drinker? We already blame the video games, and guns. Not the people who are misusing them.
