Cyclist hurls bike at car, charged with felony
KIRO Radio
A horn can be jarring if you're on a bike, but prosecutors say a Redmond man was so shaken up, he picked up his bicycle and hurled it at a car.
Chad Olson, 42, is charged with first-degree malicious mischief, a felony, for the incident on Oct. 16, SeattlePI.com reported Monday.
According to charging documents, the driver of the Volvo told police he honked his horn after the biker cut him off. Olson then spit on the car window, hit the side mirror, and threw his bicycle at the side of the car, smashing the window.
An hour later, Olson showed up at the Redmond Police Department to report a road rage incident, claiming he had been hit while trying to avoid the car. Police didn't buy it.
Repairs to the car were expected to total $5,700.
