Large vs small beer at Qwest Field

Going to the Seahawks playoff game, and planning to enjoy a beer there?

A Facebook friend put together a compelling demonstration to show what you get if you order a large beer at Qwest Field, compared with a small beer.

The price difference? The large beer costs $1.25 more. The volume difference? See Richard Hart's video:

First and Goal, which operates Qwest Field & Event Center, released this statement:

We received a copy of the YouTube video showing the quantity of liquid served in the 16 oz. beer cup is the same quantity that fits into the 20 oz. beer cup. This is the first time we have been alerted to this fact. Upon our internal investigation this afternoon, we discovered the cups that are marked 16 oz. hold 20 oz. of liquid. Fans who purchased a 16 oz. beer actually received 20 oz. of beer for the 16 oz. price. Fans that purchased the 20 oz. beer received the amount they purchased. We are working with Levy Restaurants to follow up with the cup vendor about the measurement and to determine how long this has been occurring at Qwest Field. We are determined to find a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we will serve domestic beer in the 20 oz. cup at tomorrow's [Saturday's] playoff game to ensure all fans receive the amount they purchase, and we will charge the 16 oz. price.

    Friggin crooks!
They owe me about twenty bucks, or more.

Thanks for the public service, and I'd expect the crooks to run out of small cups tomorrow...

    Defective beer cups.....
Next time I attend a Hawks game, I'll buy a small beer. A few minutes later, I will most surely notice a defect in the pour; the cup will be substantially less than full.

Based on the First and Goal statement above, it looks like they are really dedicated to customer satisfaction. Should have no problem getting my "defectively poured" cup topped off (repeatedly) for the duration of the game. :-)

    But then......................
the price you pay for a beer (large or small) is still in excess of what you could buy a half case for outside of Qwest field. If you can't say "ripoff" maybe you should start learning how.

    Here is why its fraud.
If you have two cups that hold the same amount, and charge an extra $1.25 because the second cup is supposed to hold more than the supposed smaller cup, then its fraud. Because customers are paying more for the larger cup on the assumption that it has more in it.

    Price Check, Please
I work with a non-profit group that runs a food booth on the club level at Qwest, and I've poured lots of beer...rang it up in the register, too. The beers in our stand are sold as "large" (bud light) and "premium" (Red Hook, etc.). The premium cup is shorter and wider, but the *price* is the same as the "large" domestic beer. Are the prices different on the main concourse? You usually pay more for a good ale or import than you do for bud or miller at any bar, so not really sure what the big deal is.
